These days are kinda speeding by now, but this weather? Horrible! I'm not asking for summer I'm just asking for it to NOT be winter anymore...please?!
Today, I adopted a plant at work! That sounds like nothing, but it's something lol. When I started my job there were plants all over the place. I paid them no mind, no watering, no talking to them- nothing. I never really cared for plants and I did pretty much everything I could to not be bothered with them. I just didn't want to be responsible for anything. My boss encouraged my coworker and I to take care of them, so we watered them when we remembered. Which really was a lot less often than I'm sure they would've liked.
Last week while doing something around the office I noticed one of the plants sprouting/budding (I don't know what it was going, but it was clearly still ALIVE.) Something about that excited me, I don't know if it was because I was sure it was dead or that it looked so different than everything around it. I later looked around at all the plants and really saw them. It sounds corny, but I saw a little of myself in those plants!
Besides all that "breath new life", "blossoming flower" goodness I realized something about plants/myself. I never cared for plants because they petty much looked the same, green when healthy, brown when dying. The plants/flowers I LOVE are all ones I can identify, the ones that look different. When I saw that bud I saw the beauty in that plant, when I could see the "difference" that plant looked so amazing.
I'm like that too, people are like that! As long as you look like everyone else, talk like everyone else, live like everyone else your light will be dimmed! It is only when you start living a life that is honest to and for YOU can you grow and shine!
I am not like anyone else and neither are you.We are at our most beautiful when we are being our unique selves. I have never felt more alive, attractive or connected to other people than when I started letting this little light of mine shine!! Here's hoping my adopted plant,Lint (short for Master Splinter), lives for a long while! Be yourself! Be happy! Be beautiful!! #BorrowSeason #BabySteps
